Fine win for the Buccs as Ludo Milne stars

Winning the toss and electing to bowl, the Buccaneers made early inroads as Hurlingham were reduced to 72 for 5 inside 15 overs. Despite a dogged 74 from Amaan Goodwin and a late cameo of 51 not out from Omar Hatteea, the hosts were bowled out for 207 in 36.4 overs.

George Dabby chipped in with 31, but too many Hurlingham batters failed to convert starts. The Buccaneers’ attack was led by Ludo Milne (5 overs, 1 wicket) and Hamish Robertson (6.4 overs, 3 wickets), who kept pressure on throughout. Moules and Leefe both bowled well, taking a brace of wickets each.

The Buccaneers replied with authority, reaching their target of 208 for the loss of just 3 wickets in 36 overs.

The innings centred on a commanding performance from Ludo Milne, who finished not out on 118 off 103 balls (14 fours, 5 sixes, SR 114.6) to claim a deserved century and the Player of the Match award. Milne was well supported by Ollie Robertson, who contributed 47 off 81 balls in a crucial third-wicket partnership that took the score to 193 before Robertson fell to Tom Nunneley. By that point, the game was won. Steve Moules added an unbeaten 15 to see the Buccaneers home.

Hurlingham’s bowlers toiled without reward. Tom Nunneley (8 overs) and Omar Hatteea (8 overs) were the pick, but could not stem the tide as Milne accelerated.

A comprehensive team performance and a fine victory for the Buccaneers by seven wickets.
